A tropical storm passing by has given us rain today, in Southern California in September. Rain in September is unprecedented, and we won’t leave home again until it stops.

I had been warned of potential rain today, but based on the forecast, it looked like it wouldn’t start until the afternoon. When I woke up for church this morning, it was already rainy. The sidewalks outside were completely wet.

It was raining lightly when I walked out to my car, but raining much harder by the time I got to church for choir warmup.

By the time I got home, my shoes were filled with puddles, and I saw a car balanced on its side at the side of the road on my way home. Yikes!

When we eventually went out again, we saw a rainbow!
